Im Sommer 2022 habe ich das Internet befragt, in welchen Momenten sich Mütter überlastet, müde, wütend oder erschöpft fühlen. Innerhalb kürzester Zeit erhielt ich unzählige Antworten.
CONCEPT OF A HAPPY MOM hinterfragt die mediale Darstellung der Frau in der Rolle als Mutter und zeigt die Folgen von Mental Load und Erschöpfung auf. Um den Ernst der Lage vieler Mütter sichtbar zu machen, wird echtes Stockmaterial von klischeehaften Alltagsszenen, ernsten persönlichen Aussagen gegenübergestellt.
Entstanden ist ein Film und ein fortlaufender Instagram-Kanal, die das Konzept der vermeintlich glücklichen Mutter kritisieren.

In the summer of 2022, I polled the internet to find out the moments mothers feel overworked, tired, angry or exhausted. Within a very short time, I received countless responses.
CONCEPT OF A HAPPY MOM questions the media’s portrayal of women in their role as mothers and shows the consequences of mental load and exhaustion. In order to make the seriousness of the situation of many mothers visible, real stock footage with clichéd everyday scenes, known from the media are combined with personal statements. The result is an irritating narrative that questions the concept of the supposedly happy mother.
The result is a film and an ongoing Instagram channel that critically examine the concept of the supposedly happy mother.
